Gurteen Bay is a pretty natural cove near Roundstone, just a stone’s throw from Connemara in Ireland. We love its fine sandy beach and its proximity to a second bay: Dogs Bay. A must if you want to enjoy the sea!

Visit Gurteen Bay

A beach of rocks and white sand!

Do you need a quiet place to rest while taking in some delightful seascapes? Gurteen Bay is the perfect place to take a break, enjoy the view and make a few sandy blocks! Located south of the village of Roundstone, it’s easy to get to, and is a favorite haunt of families, surfers and beach joggers.

Its turquoise water is transparent. Convincing enough to make you want to take a dip, although those with a cold will quickly be discouraged (swimming is preferable in summer, otherwise a wetsuit is required).

Take a stroll along Gurteen beach to reach its neighbouring bay, Dogs Bay, which is just as magnificent! Don’t miss out!
