The Irish Family History Centre is the Irish Centre for Family History. Housed within the EPIC Museum in Dublin, in a building dating back to 1820, it offers museum visitors the chance to discover their family history, ancestry and genealogy. A great way to learn more about yourself and others, and find out if you’ve got any Irish blood in your veins!

The center boasts an impressive documentary database, which may enable them to reveal your family history.

At the Irish Family History Centre you can :

Seek the advice of a genealogy expert to find out more about your hypothetical Irish ancestors.
Use interactive display screens
Discover the major episodes of emigration and migration in Ireland.
Play quizzes to test your knowledge of Ireland.
Consult registry databases where you can consult official documents to search for your ancestors:
- Birth, marriage and death certificates
- Census records
- Parish registers
- Travel and migration registers
- .etc…

Admission costs €50 (plus access to the EPIC Museum). The center is exciting, packed with fascinating information, and gives you the chance to question real experts on the subject of your origins and genealogy. This is your chance to find out whether or not you have any Irish blood in you!

Take your time, bring along photos or any other documents that might help you during your research: you might come away with more answers about your ancestors than you thought!
