Irish manor houses
Myrtle Grove - John Finn - cc

If you like character buildings, then don’t miss Myrtle Grove, a superb Tudor manor house built on the outskirts of the village of Youghal. Built in typical British style, this manor house is one of the only examples of a Tudor building in Ireland…

A Tudor manor house in the Irish countryside

Youghal boasts an unfortified Tudor manor house. This is one of the few buildings of its kind in Ireland. Its facade is absolutely magnificent, structured with several chimney columns and a slate roof.

The interior also features subtly decorated rooms. It features period furniture in finely carved oak, as well as valuable carpets and paintings. The rooms are spacious and comfortable for their time, decorated in the pure British tradition.

Please note that the site is now privately owned.
