At the end of North Main Street is Tynte’s Castle, a fortified tower built in the 15th century.
The only surviving tower of the 6 built in Youghal during this period, Tynte’s Castle is now open to the public, offering a fine view of the town and its houses.
It costs less than €5 to enter, and takes half an hour to visit.
