O’Sullivan’s Cascade is a beautiful waterfall in Killarney National Park. Located in the middle of the park’s thick forests, the waterfall is a little wonder to be explored if you like hiking.

O’Sullivan’s Cascade

A waterfall lost in nature

Cascade O’Sullivan is located in the heart of Tomies Wood, west of Killarney along the N72. But beware, the waterfall is under private ownership: its owner now forbids access.

Sad news, because the waterfall is magnificent… It winds its way several hundred metres higher up.

Legend has it that the waterfall was once made not of water, but of whiskey. The invasion of the English would have lifted the magic spell, turning whiskey into water, much to the disappointment of the O’Sullivan family, who enjoyed the powers of the waterfall.
