Le Smoke Alley Theater - Justin Farrelly - cc

Known as Dublin’s oldest theater, the Smock Alley Theater, located at 7 Exchange Street Lower in the Temple Bar district, dates back to 1662. A Dublin institution! It was lovingly restored to its former glory a few years ago. Still active, it offers an exciting and varied artistic program (aimed more at those with a good command of English). It’s the perfect place to see a show and enjoy a colorful evening!

Visit Smock Alley Theater

A showplace where culture reigns supreme!

The Smock Alley Theater isn’t the best-known theater for tourists, and that’s a good thing! While many travelers will flock to the Abbey Theatre, the Smock Alley Theater is a little more marginal, and unjustly overlooked by travelers.

But its confidentiality is above all an asset! You’ll be able to spend an evening like a true Dubliner! The establishment is known for presenting classics with a contemporary twist, as well as works by emerging young authors.

Whether you love theater, music, dance, comedy or visual arts, you’re sure to see something special in this fabulous secret Dublin venue.

The ticket office is open Monday to Saturday from 10 am to 6 pm, and on Sundays from midday if there is a show. Don’t hesitate to book online: you’re guaranteed to get your seat without queuing!
