St Audeon’s Church is a Dublin church located near the Liffey in Cornmarket. Considered the town’s oldest parish church, it dates back to 1190. An architectural marvel not to be missed!
St Audeon’s Church is now open to visitors. Sublime, it is considered one of Dublin’s most beautiful churches.
Dating back to the 12th century, it has been gradually restored and modernized over the years. The main tower boasts 6 bells (3 of which are thought to be the oldest in Ireland), as well as a handsome dial clock added in the 1820s. The tower offers a breathtaking view of Dublin and the surrounding area, and still chimes on special occasions.
Step inside and admire the church’s magnificent nave, choir and impressive vaults. Still in operation, St Audeon’s Church welcomes as many visitors as worshippers. A beautiful building that will give you a better understanding of Dublin’s Catholic history!
