Be prepared: your credit card is likely to take a severe hit if you drag your sneakers to Stephen’s Green Shopping Centre. It has to be said that the setting is quite simply exceptional: built over several floors, the building is a breathtaking structure of metal and transparent glass. All decorated in green and white, with Baroque sculptures on the balconies.
This is where Dubliners like to do their shopping: clothes, multimedia, technology, cosmetics, chocolate, jewelry, sporting goods… The offer is complete! And it’s hard not to crack.
It has to be said that the biggest stores here are in a constant state of activity. Here, people come and go, move, buy, look and compare. All in all, a unique atmosphere.
On the shop front, there’s something for everyone: stores, restaurants, bars and cafés where you can stroll and relax.
The stores, meanwhile, have an inescapable reputation, including Dunnes Stores, Irish chocolatier Butler’s, Argos, Boots, Eason, United Colors of Benetton, Mothercare, Elverys, Golden Discs and Carroll’s Irish Gifts and Celtic Spirit. There are, of course, many more!
It’s a real pleasure to stroll around the mall: light, airy and well-organized, it’s spread over several floors, with escalators for easy access. We love strolling along its alleys, admiring the metal and transparent glass roof that is so typical of Dublin. The place inspires both tradition and modernity: a true symbol of the Irish capital!
However, the place is sometimes a victim of its own success: it’s very crowded, and those allergic to crowds may well find themselves indisposed. We’d also advise you to avoid going at weekends: Stephen’s Green Shopping Centre tends to be saturated on Saturdays. The best time to visit is during the week, when mornings and early afternoons are much more pleasant.
Last but not least, don’t miss the shopping center at Christmas time. Stephen’s Green Shopping Centre is traditionally decked out in its finest decorations! Garlands, fir trees and lights: the place becomes magical and enchanting.
Christmas carols add the finishing touch to the place, and you’re transported back to childhood in a unique atmosphere, where you can sip hot chocolate, taste cinnamon pastries, and do your holiday shopping at the same time! A magical experience, to be enjoyed at least once in December!
