The Yellow Steeple – infomatique – cc
The Yellow Steeple is nicknamed “the yellow steeple”, because of the color the steeple takes on as the sun rises and sets. Considered the highest point in Trim, the bell tower can be seen from anywhere in town. This tower is the only vestige of the Augustinian abbey that was built here.
It’s easy to get to, and free to approach. Please note, however, that you will not be able to access the interior, as the building is considered too dangerous to visit.
Despite this frustration, the site is nonetheless magnificent, with a charm that will take you back in time to the Irish medieval period! A must-see if you’re ever in Trim!
