Bricín is one of Killarney’s best restaurants. In a warm and inviting setting, closer to a pub than a restaurant, you’ll have the opportunity to taste dishes that are emblematic of Irish cuisine. A good place to start if you want to learn about local specialities!
The Bricín prides itself on being one of Killarney’s finest establishments serving Boxty (an Irish specialty in the shape of a stuffed potato pancake). But their menu also includes other typically Irish dishes, such as rack of Kerry lamb, smoked salmon, mussels and crab claws.
For those who like a more classic meal, the restaurant also offers pasta dishes and vegan-friendly versions.
Portions are generous and well-cooked. The dishes are traditional, and pay authentic homage to Irish cuisine.
The decor is halfway between an Irish pub and a restaurant. The red or cut-stone walls are a little loaded with paintings and retro decor. A special mention must go to the art deco-inspired stained glass windows, which add a touch of cachet to the establishment.
In terms of service, the staff are efficient, passionate about advising their customers and quick to serve.
As for prices, expect to pay between €20 and €30 for a dish without drinks. Please note that they offer an early bird menu valid from 6:00 pm to 6:45 pm: expect to pay around €25.
A little extra: the restaurant has a small arts and crafts boutique on the ground floor. Nice if you want to take home a souvenir.
