The Titanic Bar and Grill is a bar-restaurant in Cobh (Co. Cork), Ireland, housed in the former ticket office of the White Star Line, the company that owned the Titanic. Steeped in history, this establishment is renowned not only for its cuisine, but also for its imposing terrace, facing the old pier from which the Titanic’s passengers set sail.
Hard to miss, Titanic Bar and Grill has one major advantage: its location! Located on Cobh’s own harbor, just a stone’s throw from the city’s major tourist attractions, this is the perfect address for a bite to eat and a drink between 2 visits.
The establishment perfectly plays the historic site card, and multiplies references to the Titanic. Decoration, atmosphere… Everything is a reminder and a tribute to the White Star Line, and to the Titanic.
Everything is done to immerse you in a place steeped in history: this gives the restaurant a certain cachet.
The restaurant offers fresh, quality food: crabmeat salad, mussels in cream and white wine sauce, seafood chowder, breaded brie, burgers, chicken wings, fish and chips, and exotic Thai and Vietnamese dishes… Not to mention their fish dishes, which vary according to the day’s arrivals.
The dishes are delicious, hearty and made with fresh produce. Everything is homemade, and the emphasis is on quality and generosity.
The welcome is friendly and the wait reasonable.
Special mention for its terrace overlooking the Cobh boarding pier where Titanic passengers once embarked. The terrace also overlooks the bay and offers a superb spot to dine facing the sea!
Lastly, prices are reasonable, but a little high: it has to be said that geographical location does not come cheap!
An excellent address nonetheless: a must-try for fish and seafood lovers!
