In Dublin, there’s a restaurant run by the Guinness brewery. Known as the “1837 Bar & Brasserie”, the establishment offers typical Irish cuisine, with each dish thoughtfully paired with a pint of the nation’s famous beer. We look forward to seeing you in the Liberties district, at the Guinness Storehouse, to enjoy a fine meal!
For the record, the 1837 Bar & Brasserie was so named to commemorate the year in which Ireland discovered that the combination of oysters and Guinness was a perfect match (to the vast majority of Irish opinion, of course).
The name alone sets the tone for the establishment: traditional Irish cuisine with a modern twist, paired with their brown ale.
And the result is a delightful opportunity to (re)discover authentic Irish cuisine, using high-quality local produce. Their signature dishes include :
Whatever you choose, the meal is tasty, and the portions rather generous. The kitchen is constantly experimenting. In particular, “Fire & Smoke” explores how the roasting of Guinness barley can be combined with roasted, grilled and smoked foods. Discover unique flavours!
Beyond the food: the setting is pretty cool, in keeping with the Guinness spirit. As for the service, they’re efficient, charming and well-versed in the art.
Expect to pay between €16 and €30 per person.
Good to know: you can reserve your table in advance. The 1837 Bar & Brasserie can now be accessed without a Guinness Storehouse ticket.
