Mark your calendars! The Blue Planet II concert is coming to Dublin and Belfast, much to the delight of nature lovers and classical music fans alike. This BBC-organized event was already a huge success during its first edition!
Its concept is simply captivating: presenting a BBC “nature” documentary showcasing the beauty of the wild world, narrated by David Attenborough, and accompanied by the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra (conducted by Matthew Freeman).
An enchanting experience awaits!
The event is scheduled for March 2019.
On the program, mesmerizing and hypnotic footage highlighting the richness of marine biodiversity. The stunning visuals feature a wide range of species, from jellyfish and corals to blue whales, rays, sharks, seals, and more. You’ll discover a marine world stretching from the Arctic to the Antarctic, living at various depths, all framed within a moving display of beauty and fragility.
Musically, the 80-piece orchestra will perform live alongside the documentary, playing a score composed by the renowned Hans Zimmer.
“The idea is to describe the abundance of life as well as the movements and vibrations of the ocean. By using the orchestra in an unconventional way, we aimed to create living chords that fluctuate throughout the series.” the composer explained.
Blue Planet II Live will take place at the SSE Arena in Belfast on March 23 and at the 3Arena in Dublin on March 24. Tickets are available on Ticketmaster starting at €44. It’s time to book, as this event is highly anticipated!
