An innovative band despite its attachment to trady music

The Danú story began in 1994 in the Irish town of Waterford. The group is made up of young lovers of trady music, determined to shine in concert together, while keeping their solo careers separate… Buoyed by their success, they officially founded their band in 2005, just after taking part in the Lorient Interceltic Festival in 2005.

Particularly attached to their cultural and musical heritage, Danú shines above all for its ability to “make new out of old”. Their arrangements, sometimes very modern, blend perfectly with more traditional tunes borrowed from Irish folklore. It’s a winning combination, and one that has seen them rack up a string of studio albums and world tours…
