If you have a sweet tooth and want to add an Irish touch to your cooking, then the Chocolate/Guinness cake is for you! This cake is served in most Irish homes on special occasions (birthdays, major events, St. Patrick’s Day, etc.).

Easy to make, it can be presented in the form of large cakes or mini-cupcakes for more conviviality.

It’s based on a chocolate cake, to which fresh cream, butter and Guinness have been added.

This beer adds a pleasant caramel touch.

Some local patisseries offer this type of cake at rather economical prices, ranging from €2.50 a slice to €7/8 a whole cake.
