The Paris attacks that took place on Friday, November 13, 2015, sparked numerous shows of support around the world… The United States, Australia, and all of Ireland expressed their solidarity through various public demonstrations, ranging from silent marches to lighting up public monuments…
Dublin was no exception.
It started with the lighting of the Convention Centre Dublin in the colors of the French flag. This modern building, a source of pride for Dubliners, showed its solidarity with France and Parisians during these difficult times. The building shone in blue, white, and red throughout the night.
The following day, a silent march was organized in the Irish capital. Over 6,000 people gathered at the foot of the Spire on O’Connell Street around 2:30 pm. The procession then walked to Stephen Green Park to pay tribute to the victims of the Paris attacks. The atmosphere was solemn, united, and deeply emotional.
Among the crowd were many French nationals, as well as Dubliners and tourists wishing to support France in these challenging moments…
The entire Guide Irlande.com team also wishes to express its support in light of the recent events affecting France.
