Aer Arann - johnc24 - cc

Aer Arann is an Irish airline specializing in European flights. Founded in 1970, Aer Arann has come a long way since then, and is now a company with a strong economic development, poised to compete with the big boys! We appreciate its professionalism and the comfort of its aircraft, as well as its consistently low fares…

History of Aer Arann

A company on the rise!

Aer Arann started out in 1970, serving only the Aran Islands from Galway. In those days, Aer Arran had very few resources, so it only operated very short flights to and from the 3 islands of the Aran archipelago.

It wasn’t until 24 years later that a wealthy Irish investor, Padraig O’Ceidigh, offered to buy the company, modernize it and develop it further. The aim was actually to expand the number of destinations offered by Aer Arann in order to target a wider audience.

Since 1994, Aer Arann has modernized considerably, and now offers flights throughout Europe. Its growing success has made it an emerging competitor in the Irish airline industry (Aer Lingus and Ryanair are keeping a close eye on it).

Book your ticket

Aer Arann offers fares that can be as reasonable as low-cost tickets, or as high as a normal national airline. It’s all a question of planning ahead, and booking your ticket at off-peak times (weekdays, for example).

Although most travel agencies offer to book a ticket for this airline, you should know that Aer Arann has an efficient website, which will enable you to book your flight at the best fare! And what’s more, the site is available in French!

Travelling with Aer Arann

On the travel front, flights with Aer Arann are quite pleasant: the planes are comfortable, fairly well soundproofed, and the friendliness of the stewardesses is exemplary. Flights from France to Ireland generally take no more than an hour and a half, with few delays.
