Ballybunion Castle
Ballybunion (Baile an Bhuinneánaigh in Irish Gaelic) is a village in County Kerry, Ireland. A very popular tourist destination, it attracts travellers who come to discover the beauty of the ruins of its castle, Ballybunion Castle.
Ballybunion is highly regarded for the beauty of its coastline, its beaches and its impressive cliffs. The area is teeming with all kinds of activities: surfing, fishing, golf, hiking, visiting the castle, spotting dolphins offshore…
The village is very welcoming, with plenty of shops, Irish pubs and restaurants.
So do not be surprised if you come across a statue of Bill Clinton in the town centre. The monument was erected as a tribute after the American politician came to play golf in the town.
Finally, do not miss the village speciality, served exclusively in summer: winkles, cooked and served in paper bags to eat on the go. A delight for seafood lovers!
