Dungarvan

Dungarvan (Gaelic: Dún Garbháin) is an Irish seaside resort in County Waterford. Its name means “Garbhan’s fort”, in homage to Saint Garbhan, who is said to have founded a church here in the 7th century.

A town marked by its historical heritage

Dungarvan is a pretty tourist village with everything to please, from its small fishing port and proximity to the River Colligan to its castle and 1816 bridge.

It has to be said that the village has a strong history, making it one of the most attractive places in the region! In fact, Dungarvan was the only local town to surrender during Cromwell’s conquests, and to play an important political role in the organization of county politics.
