How do I get there?

By ferry from Rossaveel or Doolin, or by plane from Connemara

Ferries connect Inis Meáin with Rossaveel in Connemara. The crossing takes around 50 minutes, and coach transfers are available from Galway city. Timetables change according to the time of year and weather conditions.

Seasonal services also operate from Doolin in County Clare. The advertised crossing is shorter, at around 25 minutes, but sailings do not run all year round.

Aer Arann Islands serves Inis Meáin daily from Connemara Airport, located in Inverin. The flight lasts only a few minutes and offers spectacular views of the islands and Galway Bay.

Whether travelling by ferry or plane, services remain dependent on the weather. It is essential to check timetables, book in advance in summer and keep some flexibility in your itinerary.
