Visit Killorglin

Killorglin is a small Kerry village with a population of 1,600… Crossed by the Luane River, Killorglin is said to have been built on a hill, and lives by its fishing and its lively festivals… We love its colorful streets and the warmth of its people…

Downtown

Killorglin’s town center is quite pleasant, with pubs on every corner and small local shops… Many local Irish bands often play in the streets of Killorglin, especially in the Pubs from 9.00 pm to 10.00 pm… Don’t hesitate to eat in these Pubs: the food is delicious, and the price is really affordable (around 7/8 per person).

And don’t miss out on one or two of the touristy shops in the heart of Killorglin, in case you want to splurge on some local handicrafts… These include superb Irish sweaters made from extra-virgin wool from the local sheep farm…

Luane River, Lough Nakirka and Cara Lake

Around Killorglin, there are many rivers and lakes ideal for casting your line and fishing for days on end… Among the village’s most popular waters are :

  • Luane River
  • Lough Nakirka (trout fishing)
  • Cara Lake (salmon fishing)
