The Kenmare Lace Experience is a museum in Kenmare, dedicated entirely to the art of Irish lacemaking. Kenmare has specialized in the art of fine lace-making since 1861! The museum invites you to discover this age-old art and learn the rudiments of lacemaking.
The museum takes you back to the heart of the 19th century, when many nuns became masters of the art of lacemaking. While this activity was initially just a hobby for them, their know-how soon became an art, which they loved to teach to the local Kenmare inhabitants.
