For lovers of wild, confidential beaches, Maghera Beach and Caves is a superb Irish beach in the village of Ardara. Located 8km from the village, it’s renowned as a superb spot for swimming at high tide, and exploring caves at low tide! Indescribably colorful landscapes await you: white sand, turquoise waters tinged with green… Not to mention the rock and its caves, which offer incredible views as the light changes!
Maghera Beach is unique in that it is hemmed in by large rock formations carved out by water and erosion. The result is a sumptuous beach, great for swimming, punctuated by magnificent caves that can be explored at low tide.
The spot is really great: it has to be said that the beach has a lot going for it, starting with its ultra-fine white sand, crystal-clear waters and 100% wild landscapes. It’s like being isolated from the rest of the world: only the wilderness reigns supreme, for a complete change of scenery!
The area lends itself to swimming, lounging, exploring its caves, or simply walking barefoot at low tide.
The beach is relatively unknown to travelers, so you can enjoy a fabulous spot without the fear of being swamped by thousands of tourists. After your visit to Ardara, don’t hesitate to put your towel down on this beach: it’s a complete change of scenery, and the view of the sea is splendid.
A great spot to spend time with the family, have a picnic, make sandcastles or simply get back in touch with nature!
