Located in the Comeragh Mountains, County Waterford, lies Mahon Falls, a river that cascades between the mountain’s furrows. An imposing, majestic waterfall that’s also worth a visit for its setting and surrounding landscapes!
The waterfalls are accessible to all levels, provided you’re equipped for a short hike (walking shoes and backpack). The site is easily reached after a walk along a signposted path.
The scenery is breathtaking: the mountains are magnificent, as are the rocks and coves. Here you’ll discover the River Mahon, which meanders through the mountains before cascading into the Mahon Falls.
The latter are well worth the detour: although less spectacular than some of the country’s other waterfalls, they are nonetheless fascinating in their profoundly wild beauty.
