Muckross Lake, also known as Middle Lake, is an Irish lake in the heart of Killarney National Park in County Kerry. As beautiful as it is peaceful, it offers lovely panoramic views of the national park.
Muckross Lake is several kilometers long. From its banks, it offers a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains and park: enough to make you want to draw your camera!
Although rich in choice fish, the lake is protected and closed to fishing. You can only admire it with your eyes, but it’s well worth the effort!
There are a number of signposted footpaths around the lake: a good idea if you like quiet, bucolic walks! The level is suitable for the whole family, as long as you’re well equipped and have food and water with you!
