Murlough Bay is a seaside bay in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. Situated between Fair Head and Torr Head, it boasts wild landscapes and a breathtaking view of the Mull of Kintyre, a Scottish peninsula off the coast of Ireland!

Murlough Bay is one of the exceptional locations regularly used for film and TV shoots. It was here that certain scenes from The Iron Throne were filmed!

It has to be said that the bay’s surroundings are pleasantly wild, being essentially made up of cliffs and rocky promontories in basalt, sandstone and limestone.

The area is ideal for a short hike: don’t hesitate to walk along the bay to admire its views over the sea, and a few small islands belonging to Scotland!

For the record, the bay was the burial place of the famous Roger Casement, a former British government diplomat who took part in the Irish nationalist revolutionary movement. He was executed for treason in August 1916 by the British government and buried in Murlough Bay. Since then, a commemorative ceremony has been held every August on Murlough Bay to pay tribute to him…
