The Sally Gap(Bearnas na Diallaite in Irish Gaelic) is a magical place, and one of the must-see places in Ireland! It’s actually a through pass, running east-west across the Wicklow Mountains. Sally Gap is renowned for the beauty of its vantage point, as well as for its spectacular views over the valley, mountains and lakes of the region.

Let’s face it: Sally Gap is best visited on foot, after parking your car in the designated parking lot. It’s best to go there on a clear day, to get one of the most magnificent views you’ll ever see in Ireland. The level of difficulty is very low, and the walk does not require a high level of hiking.
If, however, you prefer to drive, there’s a tour that takes you to the most beautiful parts of the Sally Gap.
All you have to do is contemplate the immensity of the Irish landscape, as you please!
The Sally Gap passes over the Luggula Estate, as well as 2 lakes: Lough Tay and Lough Dan. Just looking out over them is breathtaking! The color of the water changes from deep blue to inky black depending on the weather, and the contrast with the surrounding greenery is striking!
Don’t miss the fabulous vantage points overlooking the entire valley: whatever the season and wherever you look, the colors harmonize perfectly with the sky. And don’t hesitate to bring your camera: it would be a huge shame not to capture the moment!
