The Ardara Distillery is a new Irish distillery. Based at Ardara in County Donegal, Ireland, it belongs to the Sliabh Liag Distillers group, which owns other distilleries in the region. The group has embarked on a brand new project: to build a distillery in the town of Ardara that will produce a brand new range of Irish whiskeys… A rich, bold range that is already attracting the attention of whisky lovers!
It all began in 2020, when the Sliabh Liag Distillers group decided to build a brand new distillery. This is not the group’s first try, and it is one of Donegal’s best-known whiskey and gin producers.

The new facility plans to produce Irish whiskeys in iconic Single Malt and Pot Still variants. Their flavors are distinctive and particularly differentiated. The aim of these beverages is to be distilled in the pure tradition of County Donegal, using 19th century manufacturing methods.
These whiskeys are triple-distilled, and according to their owners, offer a rich, smoky, peaty taste. They are steeped in the cultural and gastronomic heritage of Donegal, and more specifically of the Gaeltacht.
As for the distillery, it is magnificent, and plays on the grandiose. The program features large bay windows, noble and eco-friendly materials… You can easily see the stills at work through their windows!
When the distillery officially opens its doors, you will have access to :
It will take a few more months for the winery to find its rhythm and be able to store its production in maturing barrels. But one thing’s for sure: this is the place to be for Irish whiskey lovers and critics alike!
