A historic museum on the art of tweed

Ardara is often referred to as the tweed capital of Ireland. And LE Adare Heritage Centre will give you a complete overview of the art and craft of this precious textile. The program includes exhibitions, vintage farm machinery and weaving looms to give you a better understanding of how tweed was made.

Unfortunately, non-English speakers may find it difficult to understand: none of the material is multilingual, and the subject is aimed more at adults than children…

The museum also has a Coffee Shop, where you can relax with a coffee and a pastry. The food is good, and the welcome quite friendly.
