Hag’s Glen is a valley in County Kerry. If you’re feeling sporty, you’ll be able to climb Carrantuohill Mountain, Ireland’s highest mountain! The view from the valley is exceptional!
The Hag’s Glen can be admired in 2 ways: from the mountain (which requires excellent physical condition: the Carrantuohill requires a professional level of fitness! To do this, you’ll need to take the Devil’s Ladder, the most interesting circuit for a seasoned hiker), or through the valley itself.
We recommend the second option, as it’s more accessible. But beware: even if you follow the valley, the hike is still very difficult. Never leave alone, and remember to tell someone before you go. Having a cell phone is also a plus in the event of a problem.
In any case, you’ll be able to stroll around and enjoy 2 magnificent lakes:
The view is magnificent: the greenery is omnipresent, and the valley is little visited by tourists (as it is still little known). It’s like being alone in the world, in the heart of Ireland’s breathtaking open spaces!
