The Nora Barnacle House Museum is dedicated entirely to the Irish writer James Joyce (1882-1941). It retraces the writer’s life step by step, bringing together numerous objects that once belonged to him… A great exhibition for fans of Irish literature!
The museum is housed in the former home of Nora Barnacle, the writer’s companion. The couple lived there for many years.
This house was converted into a museum in the 1980s, and houses most of the personal objects that belonged to James Joyce. Also on display are some of his works in first editions, as well as some of the author’s own phrases and quotations, and anecdotes from his life.
The tour is fun and entertaining, but aimed at a public already familiar with the writer’s works.
