The Long Hall is a popular, unspoilt pub serving fresh pints and friendly service day and night. A long-standing favorite, the Long Hall has a decidedly Victorian feel, even though it has only been officially in operation since 1766. An 1881 renovation explains the brown walls, gilded mirrors, mahogany woodwork, gleaming chandeliers, carpeted floors, leather stools, intimate snugs and other old-school details.
The Long Hall is one of those old pubs that has been in operation for centuries, and is still going strong.
The pub has an authentic atmosphere, “in its juice”. The subdued lighting adds an air of intimacy, allowing everyone to feel at home in a warm, cosy environment. According to one of the many plaques hanging on the wall, the establishment received the “James Joyce Pub Award” for its “authentic atmosphere, friendliness and good company.
Tip: arrive early if you want to secure a place. Although many things have changed over the years, the popularity of The Long Hall has not, and the venue can be a victim of its own success!
The pub is not far from George’s Street Arcade, a popular local market, and Dublin Castle. Don’t hesitate to drop in!
