If you fancy a little Irish break after discovering Dunguaire Castle and Kinvara Bay, then we recommend “The Pier Head”, an Irish pub where you can also dine. Impossible to miss with its yellow and green storefront, it has the advantage of overlooking Kinvara harbour and Galway Bay.
The Pier Head is one of Kinvara’s best addresses. Its chef (a Parisian!) offers typically Irish cuisine, with fresh fish and seafood caught straight from Galway Bay.
No fuss, no muss, The Pier Head welcomes you to an authentic setting, with all the trappings of a true Irish pub. The staff are smiling and attentive, and the drinks menu is more than extensive!
As for the dishes, you’ll be served fish, cooked to perfection! Irish salmon, seafood chowder (Irish fish soup), or seafood platters will be offered with the taste of fine local produce. Everything is delicious, hearty and representative of traditional Irish cuisine.
Accompanied by a pint of Irish beer, you’ll be in heaven!
A very nice establishment, with affordable rates, which will offer you a nice interlude before resuming your exploration of County Galway! Special mention should be made of the view, which is well worth the detour and offers a complete change of scenery!
And don’t forget to visit in the evening: the pub regularly hosts concerts of traditional Irish music. Great times ahead!
