A cool and trady 150-year-old pub

The Roadside Tavern is not far from major tourist attractions: the Cliffs of Moher, the Burren, the Aran Islands, Doolin, Lahinch…
Ideal for a break between 2 visits, the establishment has been run by the Curtin family since 1893, making it one of the oldest pubs in the Burren region.

Impossible to miss with its bright red facade and black storefront, the establishment offers a warm welcome every day, in an Irish pub that respects all the traditional codes. From the decor to the musicians playing on site, not forgetting the 100% Irish cuisine served to customers.

It has to be said that the pub has its own notoriety. So much so that great artists have come to play here, including Christy Moore, Sharon Shannon, Davy Spillane, Tommy Peoples, Seán Tyrrell, Christy Barry…etc!

In summer, countless bands come to set the Roadside stage alight. Some come from as far afield as the USA and Australia….etc.

A la carte, the Tavern Roadside serves all the great Irish classics: many beers and whiskeys… including their own beers brewed on the premises… and well worth the detour! The plant produces Ale and lagers:

• Burren Gold: a light lager with fruity accents
• Burren Red, a red amber beer with malty, sweet and spicy accents
• and Burren Black, a full-bodied brown ale with a stronger aroma and higher alcohol content.

If you’re feeling peckish, the Irish pub also serves typical Irish cuisine. Simple, economical and remarkably delicious. All focus on regional products. Among their specialties, we recommend their smoked salmon dish (produced in the Burren Smokehouse), smoked fish platter, burgers and fish and chips.

The atmosphere is top-notch, festive and friendly. The barman always serves with a smile, and the pub is often full in the evening.
