A desert-like place with almost lunar features, the Burren is a vast rocky plateau covering more than 1300 km² on the island of Ireland. The uniqueness of the place is such that Oliver Cromwell once described the Burren in these terms:

It is a region where there is not enough water to drown a man, not enough wood to hang him, not enough earth to bury him.

If you decide to visit, expect to find only vast stretches of smooth limestone rocks eroded and cracked by time. All of this is, of course, bathed in a silence sometimes broken by the constant ebb and flow of the Atlantic Ocean waves.

The place is stunning, full of surprises, and perfect for rediscovering the wild power of nature! The Burren is also famous for its biodiversity: the region is renowned for its particularly remarkable fauna and flora. You will encounter colorful flowers, marine lichen, and rare seabirds.

Don’t hesitate to put on your hiking boots and take up your walking stick on the region’s trails. The paths will lead you through landscapes situated between land and sea… where the rock juts out and the ocean seeps into every nook of the coastline. This creates a landscape in permanent erosion: a place you absolutely must discover!
