Eve Hewson is a child like no other. Born in Dublin in July 1991, she is the second of four children of Bono, leader of the rock band U2, and Ali Hewson.
Despite the media attention that surrounds her family, her parents make every effort to give her as normal a childhood as possible, away from the media and the crackling flashes of the cameras.
Coming from a family influential in music and social activism, Eve grew up in a creative and intellectually stimulating environment.
However, she is encouraged to find her own way from an early age. It was out of the question for Bono that she should let her father’s career carry her along. For the couple of Paul Hewson and Ali Hewson, it’s essential that each of their children flourish on their own…
She attended the Dalkey School Project, a private school in Dublin, and then Saint Andrew’s College, a Catholic school for girls.
Eve Hewson soon developed a passion for acting. She began acting at the age of 11 and took part in several school productions. Inspired, she is already making a name for herself as an actress.
After completing her secondary education in Ireland, she moved to the United States to study at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. It was here that she confirmed her deep love of theater and film, which led her to pursue a career as an actress.
With her degree in hand, she went on to do a number of castings, before making her film debut in 2008 in The 27 Club, about two young women trying to make a name for themselves in the music business. The film was a critical and commercial failure.
Far from being discouraged, Eve Hewson landed her first major role in Paolo Sorrentino’s 2011 film This Must Be the Place. She played alongside Sean Penn and Frances McDormand. The film was a great success, and Eve Hewson received rave reviews for her performance.
His career really took off after his debut in independent films and TV series. Notable roles include “The Knick”, where she starred alongside Clive Owen, and Steven Spielberg’s “Bridge of Spies”.
Eve Hewson is also attracting attention for her roles in films such as 2018’s “Robin Hood”, where she plays Maid Marian, and “Stardust”, a romantic drama. In addition to film, she has made a few forays into television, notably in mini-series such as “Public Enemy”.
Since then, Eve Hewson has taken on a series of film and TV roles. She starred in the series The Luminaries and Mon amie Adèle.
In 2023, she also released the film “Flora and Son”, and created a real surprise. She plays a young woman living in Dublin’s tough neighborhoods. Her son is a delinquent and rebellious child. To save him, she decides to buy him a guitar… and to take guitar lessons herself, with the help of an American teacher who gives her video lessons…
