Like the first “Vikings” opus, the Vikings: Valhalla series was filmed in Ireland, at Ashford Studios in County Wicklow, Republic of Ireland.
The production uses the same locations as the first series, and still films the village of Kattegat using landscapes from the Wicklow Mountains National Park. Giant castings are also organized to recruit warriors for battle scenes. Each time the series is called, the production team is inundated with applications: many Irish people want to make their dream come true: to take part in this legendary series!
