The Bramley apple is a variety of apple produced in Northern Ireland. A little jewel of the local terroir, Bramley is unique in that it is produced under a PGI (Protected Geographical Indication) label. We love its tangy, sweet flavours, ideal for cooking and the production of local ciders!

Bramley apples are unique in that they are quite large. They are between 2 and 3 times the size of a conventional apple! It’s the perfect way to enjoy a delicious meal without feeling like you’re missing out! Pastry lovers like to use the phrase “ one apple, one tart ” to emphasize the size of the fruit!

Although this variety is not native to Ireland, the Bramley apple has become a real specialty in Northern Ireland, and more specifically in County Armagh! It has to be said that they produce it with love and respect for tradition, placing great importance on the quality of the apples grown. For example, Irish producers grow their apples under the PGI label, a quality label that provides precise information about the place of production, and also testifies to the unquestionable quality of the apple!

In terms of taste, Bramley is tasty and ideal for cooking! Tarts, crumbles, compotes… The possibilities are endless! But where the Northern Irish excel is in the production of local cider from this famous variety. The Armagh Cider Company has made it its speciality, producing thousands of liters of cider a day from this variety of apple!

The result is a very tasty, light cider with particularly fruity accents!
