Dublin: the ideal capital for an EVG

It’s all a question of desire! Are you more of a city person? Dublin (Ireland’s capital) is a great place to party: Irish pubs, clubs, outstanding tourist attractions… There’s no shortage of festive districts like Temple Bar, not to mention the great beer served on the premises! All at rates that are pretty reasonable compared to the rest of Europe!

The icing on the cake: Dublin is a city that’s used to stag parties. It has to be said that this Anglo-Saxon tradition is part of everyday life in Ireland. You’ll see them almost every weekend on the streets of Dublin, with many brides and grooms celebrating their forthcoming wedding with pomp and circumstance, pledges, ridiculous costumes, dancing…and so on.

Also, some establishments often offer discounts for grooms-to-be and their friends. A chance to sip a pint or two at a bargain price: it would be a real shame not to take advantage!

Aside from its festive addresses, Dublin also has the advantage of offering some must-see places for any self-respecting traveller: Guinness Storehouse, Ha’Penny Bridge, Dublin Ghost Tour (to scare yourself), Viking Splash, world-renowned distilleries, Trinity College University and its old library worthy of Hogwarts…etc. There are plenty of museums and tours to do on site. Great for discovering the city by day, while partying with friends in the evening!

Last but not least, the Irish capital is easy to get to: there are countless low-cost flights on airlines like Ryanair. If you plan ahead, you can get away with a €50 round trip! Buses run between the airport and Dublin city center, so for around 15 euros you’re ready to party!

Last but not least, local accommodation is available to suit all budgets. Good to know: hotels and bed and breakfasts will cost you more than local youth hostels, which are much more economical, with prices starting at €35.

Cork and Galway: solid alternatives for bachelor parties

If Dublin doesn’t appeal to you, don’t hesitate to consider other cities, such as Galway (at the gateway to Connemara), or Cork (or even Belfast if Northern Ireland does!). These towns have kept their human scale, and offer countless places to celebrate a bachelor party in style.

Each also boasts its own set of must-see tourist attractions. It’s the perfect change of scenery to immerse yourself headfirst in Irish culture and lifestyle. Not to mention generous, affordable food, where you can eat at any time of day or night!

Whatever your choice, this will be a unique opportunity to learn the art of the Irish party. The locals are friendly, welcoming and easy to talk to. Especially when it comes to partying! Dance and music are the order of the day, and the Irish are always keen to take part! It’s a great time to be had, preferably in a pub, where the Guinness kegs are being emptied at an astonishing rate (although drink in moderation)!

Don’t miss Ireland’s wide open spaces and wild landscapes!

If you’re also into nature excursions, it’s perfectly possible to party at night for your EVG, and explore the country during the day. And there are plenty of opportunities! Why not go hiking with your mates in some of the country’s most beautiful national parks? County Wicklow National Park and Connemara National Park, for example, are well worth a visit. A little trail will do you good, and plunge you into the heart of Ireland’s hidden treasures!

All you need is a car (or, if you don’t have one, a number of bus routes), a backpack, food and water, and off you go into the wilds of Ireland!

If you prefer more seaside scenery, we also recommend ultra-touristic spots such as the sublime Cliffs of Moher (Co. Clare), or the Ring of Kerry (Co. Kerry).

It’s all a question of how far you have to travel, and how much time you have available for your trip to Ireland! Don’t hesitate to sleep on site: the regions are teeming with hotels, campsites and bed-and-breakfasts.

Experience a 100% Irish EVG!
