Ireland has 7 public universities, respected throughout Europe for the quality of their teaching. They include :
The latter are essentially based on the Oxford and Cambridge models, and offer a wide range of courses, from computer science and literature to law, business, tourism and medicine).
In addition to these universities, Ireland also has 5 Colleges reserved for future primary school teachers. Other private colleges also offer more specific vocational courses, in the fields of art, business, law or tourism. Among them are :

What specialty should I choose?
Whether you’re an IT pro, a lover of literature or passionate about the law, Ireland offers high-quality training courses that will prepare you effectively for the job market.
For lovers of the humanities, many universities offer “Irish studies”, “Anglo-Irish studies” or “Celtic studies”. These 3 courses will introduce you to the wealth of Irish, Anglo-Irish and Celtic literature, with works by Oscar Wilde, Samuel Beckett, James Joyce and even older authors who wrote about Celtic mythology!
If literature isn’t your thing, there are also other highly sought-after sectors that will give you a good chance of finding a job straight out of college. IT, paramedics, law and agri-food are just some of the sectors that can help you find a job in Ireland or elsewhere.
