Visit the Beal Boru

An archaeological site lost in the forest

Although often ignored by tourists, this site is well worth a visit! Comprising a ringfort, several hundred stone tools, including axes, hammers, etc., were found.

The fort can be found by following a grassy path halfway between the Killaloe and Scarrif roads. You’ll recognize it by its grassy mound. But be careful not to damage it.

A friendly, quiet corner with a certain charm!
