Dunmore Head is located on the Dingle Peninsula in County Kerry. This is Europe’s most westerly point. Magnificent and untamed, the place promises sumptuous panoramas of the ocean, Blasket Islands and surrounding cliffs.

Visit Dunmore Head

A point lost to the Atlantic Ocean

Dunmore Head has the advantage of being close to the village of Dunquin, on the Dingle Peninsula, which boasts some of the finest views in the region (including the Ring of Kerry).

Easy to reach by car, Dunmore Head is appreciated above all for its wild nature, but also for its ogham stone, situated on a hill overlooking the sea.

A particular feature of this stone is its oghamic engraving. This is an ancient pagan script still found on some Irish archaeological sites.

This stone is one of the finest intact specimens in the country!

Access to Dunmore Head is free, and well worth a short break or even a hike!

Don’t forget your camera and go in good weather: the view is simply breathtaking, and will give you an unobstructed view of the Blasket Islands, which lie several kilometers off the Dingle Peninsula!

Whatever happens, make sure you’re well equipped, with a backpack and good shoes!
