Impressive. That’s the word to describe Brandon Mountain.

Located in County Kerry, on the famous Dingle Peninsula, the mountain is lush and green, and protects a magnificent Irish lake with deep, calm waters.

Its hiking trail is rich in history and tradition – the Marian grotto is one of the most memorable features of the hike. This is a monument where hikers have long made pilgrimages to relieve themselves of ill-health.

Mount Brandon offers breathtaking views of a glacial valley, where hikers can admire lakes, waterfalls and sheer cliffs.

Views abound at every point along the trail, and some of the most fascinating views include sights such as the Blasket Islands and even the Aran Islands on a clear day.

The site is totally wild, and will plunge you into a calm rarely experienced elsewhere. Make sure you’re well equipped for the climb: hiking boots, sweater, windbreaker, food and water are a must.

It is an excellent choice for intermediate hikers, as it will push your limits while remaining manageable and very enjoyable to ride. This mountain hike offers incredible views of the Dingle Peninsula from its summit. A feast for the eyes!

If you enjoy sporting challenges, Mount Brandon should feed your thirst for adventure! This mountain has a signposted hiking trail that takes you to its summit, where you can enjoy incredible views of the surrounding area.

It’s better to hike in a group than alone: it’s essential for safe hiking. A marked trail takes you to the summit, where you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of the Peninsula and Connor Pass, another pass in the region.

And if you don’t want to climb it, you can always admire it from the road: the mountain is magnificent, and changes with the weather! There’s plenty of scope for some cool shots!
