Royal County Down Golf is a golf club in Northern Ireland, located in Newcastle, County Down. The 130-year-old course was founded in March 1889 and has survived to the present day, making it one of Ireland’s oldest golf courses! Popular with golfers, it boasts two 18-hole courses.

At Newcastle, golf is no joke. It has to be said that the town is particularly proud of its local golf club, which was reportedly ranked in 2016 by Golf Digest as the best golf course in the World (outside the USA).

The club has become a landmark for connoisseurs. It must be said that he has organized a number of major tournaments, including the Walker Cup. The Irish Open was also held there at the end of May 2015…

Also, the famous Irish golfer Rory McIlroy never ceases to claim that Royal County Down Golf is his favorite course in the world.

It has to be said that the club offers a playground of great diversity and subtlety. All in an exceptional setting, between dunes, sand and sea!

The site is of course open to all players. Here you can rent the necessary equipment and a shopping cart, and of course take advantage of a pleasant café and restaurant area.
