The Achill Experience Aquarium & Visitor Centre is a visitor center and aquarium located on Achill Island, Ireland. The only one in Mayo County! An opportunity to learn more about the island and its treasures, but above all… to admire some fabulous marine fish!
If you want to find out more about the place you’re visiting, then you’ve come to the right place! The Visitor Centre is the place to be for travellers seeking further information…
You’ll find out all about Achill Island: places of interest, local history, a replica of the Boley House, and a fascinating documentary on Achill Island’s once thriving basking shark fishing industry.
You can also visit the island’s local aquarium. Species from all over the world evolve in perfectly maintained aquariums. There are 16 basins, featuring an impressive variety of fish.
You’ll also be able to admire the local fish on the shores of Achill Island, on the Wild Atlantic Way. But you can also discover tropical fish: clownfish, surgeonfish, catfish, crabs, spiny rays, starfish, sea urchins and various species of flatfish.
Last but not least, there’s a small, friendly boutique and a coffee-shop. Perfect before setting off on new adventures!
Above all, don’t hesitate to book your visit in advance: the establishment doesn’t offer tours without pre-booking on the website.
