Doolin Cave is a cave in Doolin, County Clare. Accessible to visitors, it allows you to discover Ireland underground, with its miles of galleries and impressive geological formations!
Doolin Cave
Doolin Cave boasts the largest stalactite ever measured in the northern hemisphere. Measuring 7.3 metres in length, it was discovered in the 1950s, and is shaped like a chandelier. It’s hard to believe that it was formed by a long drip over thousands of years!
The tour is guided, and never exceeds 20 people. Lasting between 30 and 45 minutes, you’ll discover the mysteries of caving and geology, admire marvellous rock formations and see the Burren as you’ve never seen it before!
Please note that you will need a helmet to descend into the cave. As the surface area is rather spacious, you won’t have to crawl through the galleries… However, don’t hesitate to wear mud- and dust-proof clothing…
The price of the visit is rather high, but well worth it.
