The Long Walk is undoubtedly one of Galway’s best-known corners! This is a short walk along Lough Corrib, with its houses, boats and small harbor. A very pleasant walk, which will show you the symbiosis in which the inhabitants live to the rhythm of the Corrib River…
The Long Walk usually starts in front of the Galway City Museum, a few metres past the Spanish Arch, one of the city’s most popular tourist attractions.
But don’t be fooled by its name: there’s nothing long about the Long Walk! It will take you between 5 and 15 minutes to complete this short circuit! But it’s worth it!
You’ll pass a string of houses, all facing the river, with different, colorful facades. The view alone is worth stopping to take a few shots! Lough Corib’s incessant bustle contrasts wonderfully with the beauty of its simple little houses.
One of Galway’s must-see spots!
