Visit Nowlan Park
A veritable temple to Irish Gaelic sports
Nowlan Park boasts an impressive capacity: 24,000 visitors, including 17,000 seated. (Expansion plans are underway to bring its capacity to over 40,000).
Generally speaking, the stadium can be visited in 3 different ways:
- by attending a local match (remember to book your tickets in advance),
- attending a music concert (Nowlan Park has played host to Andrea Bocelli, Rod Stewart, Bob Dylan and Dolly Parton),
- by signing up for the Kilkenny Way activity, which will introduce you to hurling during a 2-hour sports course, right on the pitch!
Generally speaking, the quality of the infrastructure and its imposing size make Nowlan Park a rather pleasant stadium. The atmosphere is crazy on big match nights! A must for fans of sporting events who want to learn about Gaelic sports!
