Good news for travelers from southern France: Ireland is once again accessible via direct flights from Montpellier. For the summer 2026 season, Aer Lingus is relaunching a direct route between Montpellier-Méditerranée Airport and Dublin.

The route will operate from May 19 to September 12, 2026, with two flights per week scheduled on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Flights will be operated on Airbus A320 aircraft, with a flight time of approximately 2 hours 20 minutes.

Easier access to Ireland from Occitanie

Dublin, the perfect gateway to explore the island

This direct connection makes traveling to Ireland easier for residents of Montpellier, Hérault, and the wider Occitanie region. No more need to transit through Paris, Lyon, or other major European airports: Dublin is reachable in just a few hours.

Once there, travelers can explore Dublin’s must-see attractions such as Trinity College, Temple Bar, the Guinness Storehouse, and Phoenix Park. Dublin also serves as a convenient hub to reach other parts of the country, including Connemara, Galway, Cork, Belfast, and the spectacular Cliffs of Moher.

A useful flight for reaching North America too

Dublin, a convenient hub for flights to the United States

This new route will appeal not only to travelers seeking Irish pubs, wild landscapes, and city breaks in Dublin but also offers a valuable connection to North America through Aer Lingus’s hub in Dublin.

The Irish airport provides access to several major North American cities such as New York and Boston. Another notable advantage: passengers heading to the United States can complete certain U.S. entry formalities directly in Dublin before boarding, simplifying arrival in the U.S.

Great news for tourism between France and Ireland

A seasonal route designed for holidays

The return of this Montpellier-Dublin route fits into a positive trend for travel between France and Ireland. It meets strong summer demand from both French travelers eager to discover the Emerald Isle and Irish visitors attracted to southern France.

With two weekly rotations, this route allows for planning anything from a short stay in Dublin to a more extensive road trip across Ireland. Whether for a long weekend, a week’s vacation, or a more ambitious itinerary, the direct flight makes travel smoother, faster, and often more comfortable.
