County Down

Welcome to Northern Ireland! County Down (Contae An Dúin in Gaelic) is one of the 6 northern counties belonging to the province of Ulster. With the Irish Sea to its east, County Down is a magnificent region, rich in archaeological remains and places to visit!

From prehistoric stone circles to ruined castles, don’t hesitate to explore County Down’s countryside and villages! There’s plenty to see and do, and it’s well worth the detour! And don’t miss the county capital: Downpatrick. This picturesque village is home to the tomb of Saint Patrick, the patron saint of the Irish, who helped evangelize Ireland in the 5th century!
